About our farm

The Good Berry Farm is a family run blueberry farm in Colyton, just outside of Feilding in the Manawatū. 
 

For years our farm has been used for grazing heifers, but we began looking for something that better suited our small block, our family life, and the future we wanted to build. After plenty of research (and a big planting effort with help from friends and family in 2024 & 2025), we now have over 2,000 blueberry bushes growing on the property under a fully netted structure.
 

We have two main species, highbush and rabbiteye (with multiple varieties within them) which means eventually our season should run from December through to March each year. 

We’re planning to open officially for Pick Your Own in January 2027.
 

When we do, you’ll be able to stop in during our open hours, pre-buy a punnet (or a few) from the shop on-site and pick your own berries straight from the bush. There’ll also be real fruit ice cream made with our blueberries and other local fruit, and a few places to sit and enjoy being out on the farm for a while.
 

We’re trying to create a relaxed, local spot where people can pick seasonal fruit and spend some time outdoors. It’s a fabulous family activity with the benefit of picking a delicious healthy super fruit!
 

We’re taking it one season at a time, blueberries take about 7 years to mature so each season will look a little bit different for a wee while but we are so looking forward to welcoming visitors once the berries are ready.
 

On your way in you'll notice we are also growing olives with future plans to make our own extra virgin olive oil brand!
